History of GameX

GAMEX was launched in 2017 as an event that celebrates gaming across the ages. We have come a long way from the Atari 2600s of the world, to the point where pong no longer has to be played on a CRT screen, but in an age where opponents can go toe to toe in virtual combat.
Our show was founded with one vision; to provide an immersive experience for gamers of all ages. GAMEX aims to provide an immersive experience for gamers of all ages. Whether you’re a hardcore collector looking for the final piece in your collection, a competitor looking to take on the best in our Melee or Mario Kart tournament, or someone just looking to try your hand at some oldschool systems, we have you covered.

OUR HISTORY

2022
...
2020 - 2021
Due to the global COVID pandemic, GAMEX went on hiatus to comply with government regulations and maintain the safety of our community.
2019
Year three brought us to the Hilton Meadowvale, where we added panel discussions to our programming along with a larger-scale gaming tournament, nearly hitting the 1500 attendee marker!
2018
Due to the overwhelming demand, GAMEX took over the Hershey Centre in 2018, bringing on board Scott Yaphe (Uh-Oh) and Nicholas Picholas (Video and Arcade Top 10) as special guests. The second year was an overwhelming success, attracting over 1200 attendees to our show!
2017
The first ever GAMEX was launched at the Mississauga Grand Event Centre, bringing together over 700 gamers.
